Over the last seven years, Maia Hirasawa has had two separate pop music careers.
The audiences in her native Sweden first got to know her in 2007, as her debut album “Though, I’m Just Me” exploded on the Swedish pop music scene. It was followed by the albums “GBG vs STHLM” (2009) , “What I Saw” (2013) and “Vacker & Ful” (2016), all of which confirmed that she is an artist with a unique musical expression.
Simultaneously, she has had a career in Japan, where she is by now just as established as a songwriter, producer and singer. Since her father is originally from Japan, Maia Hirasawa has a natural relationship with the country and in 2010-2011, she even lived there. Throughout the years, she has continued to work on her music and write new songs, some of which will end up on her brand new album coming in early 2019. In summer 2018, she already released a song from that upcoming album – “Jag väljer inte dig”, an explosive track that could be described as a “joyful anthem” with Swedish lyrics.
