Raw acoustic energy and hauntingly beautiful melodies from Estonia!

In their music, Estonian lyrics and tradition meld with American string band influences to create a sound at once familiar, yet unlike anything you’ve heard before. The band’s rise in the Estonian music scene in 2014 was a phenomenon previously unheard of: a folk music artist that becomes mainstream, collecting music awards and remaining the top seller in music stores for more than a year.

Curly Strings have signed a record deal with the great German label Jazzhaus Records, who will be releasing their album “Hoolima” in summer 2018! It will first be available in Switzerland, Austria and Germany.

“Their enchanting feel for music and the mastery of instruments as well as vocals create a colorful soundscape that enriches European bluegrass repertoire and broadens its spectrum.” European World of Bluegrass

“Estonian lyrics and tradition meld with American string band influences to create a sound at once familiar, yet unlike anything you’ve heard before.” Casey Driessen

“These musicians are inspired by music from far away places but are deeply connected and informed by their own cultural heritage. I LOVE THAT!” Mike Marshall

“Powerful, but also tender. Standing ovations are a reward of this impressive performance.” Badische Neueste Nachrichten
